Terms of Service
Terms governing use of the Instrumetriq website and dataset.
Last Updated: March 24, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Instrumetriq website, datasets, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the service.
2. Nature of the Service
Instrumetriq provides observational datasets derived from public market data and public social media content.
The service is intended for research, analysis, and experimentation purposes. It does not provide investment advice, trading signals, or recommendations of any kind.
3. Use of Data
Dataset access is governed by the license tier under which you subscribe. Your permitted uses depend on which subscription plan is active on your account. See Section 4 for the specific rights and restrictions that apply to each tier.
Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations when using the data.
4. License and Restrictions
4a. Standard Subscription Tiers (Explorer, Analyst, Researcher)
Instrumetriq grants subscribers on standard tiers a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the datasets during an active subscription period for internal purposes, including personal use, academic research, and professional analysis conducted for your own benefit.
Internal use includes using the data to inform trading decisions, build private models, conduct research, or generate analyses for your own consumption - even in a professional or institutional context.
Users on standard tiers may publish analyses, charts, models, or conclusions derived from the data. Academic publications may include a limited number of illustrative sample rows for the purpose of demonstrating data structure or methodology, provided the raw dataset is not reproduced in bulk.
Users on standard tiers may not:
- Incorporate the raw datasets into commercial products, software, data services, or revenue-generating services offered to third parties.
- Train machine learning models intended for commercial deployment or sale to third parties.
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or make available the raw datasets, in whole or in part, to third parties.
4b. Commercial License Tier
Subscribers on the Commercial License tier are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access, use, and incorporate the datasets into commercial products, software, models, and revenue-generating applications offered to third parties, during an active subscription period.
Permitted commercial uses include embedding derived metrics into products, using the data as a feature source in commercial ML pipelines, powering data-driven services built on top of the dataset, and training machine learning models intended for commercial deployment.
When the dataset is used as a feature source in a commercially distributed product or service, attribution to Instrumetriq as the data source is required in any associated documentation, product description, or publication.
White-labeling the dataset - presenting the data as your own original data collection without attribution - is not permitted under any tier.
The prohibition on redistribution, resale, and sublicensing of raw datasets applies to the Commercial License tier equally. Selling or distributing the raw dataset files themselves, in original or modified form, is not permitted under any tier.
5. Data Delivery and Access
Dataset access for standard subscription tiers is delivered via Patreon. Access is contingent on an active Patreon membership at the applicable tier level. Access terminates immediately upon membership cancellation or payment failure. Instrumetriq is not responsible for access interruptions caused by Patreon platform issues.
Subscribers receive access to the following data windows during an active subscription:
- Daily files: a rolling 7-day window of individual daily Parquet files.
- Month-to-date bundle: a cumulative Parquet file covering the current calendar month, updated daily.
- Monthly archives: finalized archive files for all prior calendar months, retained permanently and accessible to active subscribers.
Instrumetriq does not guarantee the availability of any specific historical period beyond the windows defined above.
6. Disclaimer
The data is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Instrumetriq is not responsible for decisions, losses, or outcomes resulting from the use of the data. See our Disclaimer page for complete details.
7. Changes to Terms
Instrumetriq reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
